“I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.” John 17:20. I’d like to talk briefly about the impetus behind Just Catholic. I have always enjoyed writing, and, yes, while it’s a major part of my job as an attorney, there are many topics that I enjoy writing about outside of my day job (where I represent victims of negligence and workplace discrimination)—namely, the Catholic faith, culture, and politics. I wanted to create this newsletter as a place where I can share my reflections with friends, family, and anyone else who’s interested in the same issues. Whether you’re a practicing Catholic, you’ve been away for a while, or you know next to nothing about the faith but would like to change that, I hope you’ll find that this newsletter challenges you to think differently about the Church and how we engage the world and make disciples.
